What is Surfite?
Surfite, also known as "Surf Stone," is a vibrant byproduct of surfboard craftsmanship. During the "glassing" process, a thick layer of fiberglass cloth is applied over a foam board blank. To saturate the cloth, epoxy resin is poured over the surface, and the excess resin spills over the edges, dripping onto the floor. Over time, these colorful layers of hardened resin build up and must be chipped away to clear the workspace. Once considered waste, these discarded resin chunks now find new life as unique, eco-friendly materials for jewelry and art.
